Does This Make Sense?

  • Stand close to the plate and dive
  • Pivot in stance to bunt without plate coverage
  • Excessive shoulder roll in load looking at the ball with one eye
  • Set up without being able to cover the plate
  • Do not have a two strike approach
  • Expect the inside fastball always
  • Intentionally chop down on the ball
  • Tilt head in stance or swing
  • Let the hands take the body to the ball
  • Have a private instructor who doesn’t teach lower half mechanics
  • Practice bat path sitting or kneeling
  • Excessively bend at the waist to hit the low pitch
  • Swing down to create backspin
  • Think mechanics during the game
  • Look/expect pitch types that you can’t handle
  • Always take the first pitch
  • Avoid machine hitting to work velocity and/or breaking balls saying you can’t time it
